First Light - Tiller to Wheels

Looking to step up his sailing, Peter White purchased the TP52 originally launched as Rio but most recently known as Secret Men’s Business and shipped it to Sydney from South Australia and in keeping with his previous boats renamed it "First Light".

Peter worked with Troy Kennedy and the Marine Element team to change the steering system on the boat from a tiller to twin wheels. Structural and composite engineering was required to accurately place and fit the pedestals and wheels into the existing boat.

Act 1 of the TP52 Gold Cup sailed as part of Sydney Harbour Regatta on 1-2 March, marked the first regatta in the new boat for the First Light team, and in their words "we could not be more stoked about it!"

The First Light team plan to compete in all the remaining TP52 Gold Cup Regattas, the CYCA Winter Series & then head north for Hamilton Island Race Week.
